Last week, the Quodus.ai team had the incredible opportunity to attend and sponsor EUNIS 2025 in Belfast — one of Europe’s premier gatherings of higher education IT leaders. It was an inspiring few days of connection, innovation, and forward-thinking discussions on how technology is reshaping the future of academia.

Spotlight Session: Optimizing Space at UVT
One of the highlights of our time at EUNIS was our joint presentation with the West University of Timișoara (UVT): “Bridging the Gap Between Information Systems and Real-World Classroom Usage”
In this session, we explored how UVT tackled significant space utilization challenges across its 460-room campus. Rapid institutional growth had led to fragmented room booking systems and underused resources. To solve this, UVT implemented Quodus.ai’s solution — combining IoT people-counting sensors with scheduling data to gain real-time insights into actual room occupancy.
This integration not only revealed mismatches between planned and real usage but also uncovered opportunities to:
- Optimize room scheduling
- Improve resource allocation
- Reduce operational costs
- Enhance the student experience
Attendees saw a live demonstration and walked away with a clearer understanding of how AI and real-world data can elevate facilities management across higher education.
