Quodus.ai at Tradeline College & University Facilities 2026: Beyond the Schedule

The Quodus table at Tradeline College & University Facilities 2026, a tablet running the demo beside the Quodus roll-up

Last week the Quodus.ai team was at College & University Facilities 2026, Tradeline's conference for the people who plan, design, build and run campus facilities. It was held on March 30 and 31 at the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale, in Arizona.

It was the right room for our message. We help universities move beyond the schedule to see how their classrooms and facilities are really used. Whether the goal is to defer capital expenditure or to improve the student experience through better space management, it starts with knowing what happens in each room. At our table, visitors could see it working in a live demo of the platform.

The gap the schedule hides

The example on our roll-up puts it plainly: the ERP says 93%, reality is 68%. That difference is booked time nobody uses, hiding in plain sight, and building more is not the solution.

Closing that gap takes the right data. Wi-Fi estimates activity from the devices in a building; Quodus counts people, room by room, every five minutes. That answers the questions Wi-Fi can't, as the roll-up's examples show:

  • Was that booking used? From 9:30 until 10:15, with 18 people in the room.
  • Are those devices people passing by, in the corridor or on the street? A count in the room isn't fooled by them.
  • Was it Lab 116 or Classroom 117? Classroom 117 was empty, and Lab 116 held 40 people.

How we close the gap

Our continuous improvement cycle, as the stand set it out:

  1. Measure: room-level headcounts, so you know exactly when each space is occupied, how many people are in it, and when it sits empty
  2. Analyze: the ERP plan against actual use, exposing ghost bookings that hide usable capacity, and flagging scheduling conflicts as they happen
  3. Insight: a clear view for every leader, from campus, building and room for facilities and planning, to course, program and department for deans, the registrar and the CFO
  4. Optimize: right-size room assignments to actual demand, refine scheduling policies with hard evidence, and defer or justify capital expenditure with real data

And it works with what you already have, from Ellucian and Accruent EMS to CollegeNET and Ad Astra.

Thank you to everyone who stopped at our table in Scottsdale. If you missed us, or want to see what the gap looks like on your own campus, ask us for a demo.
